C-L-A-W-S Daisy and Dilly (The Divas)

Dilly and Daisy, along with sister Speedy and friend Lily (sadly no longer with us) came to C.L.A.W.S. in the summer of 2014 when their owners were no longer able to look after them.

They soon became firm favourites with volunteers and visitors alike with their friendly personalities and winning ways.

They were the stars of the C.L.A.W.S. 20th anniversary video and won all hearts.

They have become frailer (they are now 22 years old !) and require medication to help them stay healthy (blood pressure pills for both of them and pills to control hyperthyroidism and a liquid solution to keep her potassium level steady for Dilly)

They go to Alma Vets for regular check-ups to keep them in the best possible condition.

We feel sure Dilly has been consulting with Beauty as she too is a dab hand (or should it be paw !) at spitting her tablets out and even better spitting out her liquid medication which is sticky and dark brown – not a good look with a fluffy white coat.   Sometimes she even manages to spray it over to her carer.

A regular "shampoo and set” is required to restore her coat to pristine condition which she accepts without complaint.

They may be physically frailer but their spirits are as bright as ever.    Dilly loves to sit out in the rain and both are often out in even the coldest weather.

The other morning we couldn’t find Daisy – unusual as she is always the first up and shouting for her breakfast.
It was with trepidation that we started to search the enclosure.

We found her fast asleep in her outside litter tray – and there was frost on the ground !!

They are a joy and light up our lives – we love them dearly.
