Jake came to CLAWS about a year ago as there was a space – an unusual occurrence.
The help line rang. It was Ruth. She had been referred to CLAWS by her vet who thought that we might be able to help.
Her sister had died suddenly leaving two cats. Jake and Pumpkin.. She had made no provision for them. They were still living at her sister’s house and Ruth and her husband were going round there twice a day to feed them and to try to catch the shy one named Jake.
We agreed to lend them a trap and she and her husband went round straightaway to collect it. They set it the next day and when they returned there was Jake.
Beverley had said that she would take him in and try to re-home him.
He was scared at first, hiding behind his bed, but made slow but steady progress, bonding with Beverley. and even letting her rub his tummy.
It will be a while before we even start thinking of re-homing him but he’s on the right track.
